You know, it’s been 3 weeks since I was last in touch. It started out with Danny having the flu, and then I ended up catching it from him! This must have been the worst bout of flu that I’ve ever had. It completely knocked the wind out of my sails but, at the same time, it forced both of us to slow down, and even take a little step backwards and to take a little bit of down time for ourselves. Fortunately we’re both over it now. YAY!!
I don’t know about you when you get sick, but as the days went on, and I still wasn’t feeling that great, I started to worry about about all of the things that were piling up that I had to do! I had to ask my assistant Roz to help me call and cancel appointments and meetings; I’d promised my friend Ibis that I would speak to her about the cruise she is organizing, which comes up next month (which I’m really looking forward to! Even more than ever now!); I’d promised my friend Barry that I’d be working with him on the cover design of the new meditation CD we’re putting out together in a few weeks; not to mention that I wanted to surprise Danny with Valentine’s Day dinner reservations to one of his favorite restaurants. However, the flu was so bad that everything had to take a back seat, except for some self care and self love! So things are a little behind schedule, and I do apologize for the delay in this newsletter!
Now this was just the flu, so it really wasn’t that much of an issue in the big tapestry but it reminded me of something that I spoke about in a video last summer. What happens when it’s a bigger illness and the worry changes to fear? How can we look at our lives and our situation in the most helpful way? I like to try and look at every situation with love, and share what I’ve learned about how to transform fear into love.
It was an interactive session with viewers so there were also some very important questions that were asked, like:
- What if our illness is caused by something we did to ourselves?
- What if I’m worried about another person’s health?
- How do I stop focusing on physical pain?
- How do I heal anxiety and fear of being judged?
All of these are great questions, which I think are questions that goes through so many of our minds.
I wanted to revisit what I said in that video but I wanted to make it easier for you to listen on the go if you wanted to so I’ve asked my team to turn it into a podcast for you. The link to listen or download is below.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day…… ❤️❤️❤️
Thankfully, we’ve both recovered, so we’ll be able to go out for that dinner date! We’ve even decided to go dancing, to practice our dance routine for evenings on the cruise! But I also wanted to come up with something fun to do with you for Valentine’s Day. I was pondering on what would be nice to do to celebrate the day of love, while I went out to get some groceries. As I was standing in the check out line, I overhead two women talking as they looked at the magazine display rack at the checkout. They were talking about how the only thing that seems to be on the magazine section shelves are dozens of publications that focus on who did what horrible thing to who! The other woman agreed and said that it’s not just magazines! It seems to be the case on TV too! Then the first woman said that she wished there was media that just focused on being nice and loving. I started thinking about what I’d overheard and realized that they were right, and this strengthened my resolve to always focus on sending LOVE, whenever I write, speak, or record! But…..I also wanted do a little something more.
